On Purpose for a Purpose
To the one who needs a little encouragement today, here are some truths about God and about you!
You are made in His image.
We reflect God. We live, think, and speak in a way that brings attention to the glory and goodness of God.
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.”
There is no replacing you.
There is no one like you. You are wonderfully made. The definition of wonderfully is “in a way that inspires delight or admiration, extremely well.”
Psalm 139:13-14 “For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know that full well.”
We are God’s chosen people.
We are special because we belong to God. He called us out of darkness into light. We can proclaim the praises of the Lord the one who has done a great work in us."
2 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness and into his marvelous light.”
The Lord cares for you and loves you deeply.
The cross is evidence of God’s love for us. God gave the most precious thing, His son, to die on the cross for undeserving sinners.
Romans 5:8 “But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
You are known and treasured.
God knows us better than anyone, including ourselves. He will never forget us or leave us and He will always care for us.
Matthew 10:310-31 “But even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
You are beautiful and captivating.
Your heart is the core of who you are. When we believe that we are passionately loved by God we find that our hearts grow in their capacity to love and be loved.
1 Peter 3:3-4 “Don’t let your beauty consist of outward things like elaborate hairstyles and wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes, but rather what is inside the heart - the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
You are not your hurt, your pain, your insecurities, or your past.
Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding.”
The Lord is gracious towards us.
When we deserve wrath and punishment, God shows his grace and forgiveness towards us. We can never out-sin God’s grace.
Romans 5:20 “The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more.
The Lord will always be with you and will never leave you.
Even when it seems like God may be silent, He is always with us. We can have confidence that whatever he is facing, he is right by our side.
Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave or abandon you. Do not be afraid of discouraged.”
He created you on purpose for a purpose.
We are his beautiful creation, created for good works.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”
